Noticed this on Maud Newton's blog about a dissenting opinion re Emily Dickinson.

Thomas Bailey Aldrich’s wholesale dismissal of Emily Dickinson’s poetry in the January 1892 Atlantic Monthly is entertaining in its clueless pomposity.

It's always nice to hear about poetry on the book blogs, however belated. Would it be nicer still to see that pleasing righteousness leveled at contemporary criticizers of oddball verse? Aye, it would.
