I can't stop listening to the Nine Horses album. Lyrics I heard as ironic contrasts the first blast through ("It's a wonderful world full of wonderful things/And the people fall down and abandon their dreams") now sound humane -- therapeutic, even. And the timbres, dissonances, harmonies, and rhythms as per usual send me scattering. I'll be amazed if I'm not still listening to "The Librarian" every few days by the end of the year. One to add to the how'd-they-do-it list.

UPDATE: Ah -- what helped was partly collaboration, partly taking his time.
